Korea unveils huge clean energy investment plan in 2010
Since 2007, private sector investment in clean energy has increased
from 1 trillion won to 3 trillion won in 2009. And this year,
Korea announced a bold plan to spend about 40 trillion won ($36 billion) on new renewable energy projects by 2015. Also the government will spend nine trillion won to build an offshore wind farm in the Yellow
Sea by 2019.
According to a paper on global science technology policies for 2009 and 2010, published by the Ministry of Education in Korea, many G-20 nations spent an average of 15% of their stimulus budget on green growth. and
Korea ranked the highest by dedicating 80% of its budget, while the European Union spent 58.7%, China 34.3% and the US 11.5%. Korea's renewable energy industry will rapidly grow up with this big investment. - Bridge-headfor Asian Clean
